Look At These Fabulous Prizes...
Through the summer and into the fall, we'll be giving away genuine manuscript pages from The Penguins of Doom, and not just any pages... These are illuminated special edition pages!
The pages are from the June 2006 version of the manuscript, which included most (but not all) of the edits that made it into the final version and corrected most (but not all) of the typos. This was the last version to contain images before the author was told that the pictures really ought to be removed from the manuscript and sent in as separate files.
The pages are printed on a special letterhead paper, reformatted slightly to fit the new margins. The paper features a purple-to-yellow diagonal gradient with a watermark of penguins at the center and book information at the bottom. Each page is unique, autographed in gold metallic ink, and suitable for framing (frame not included).
Pages will be given away in a number of online and in-person contests--check back here often for details on the current contests. Winners will select their page from the available page numbers below, and that page number will then be taken off the board. Some pages have a lot of text, some only have a couple of lines, and about 50% have illustrations. The page numbers don't match up exactly with the page numbers in the book, so getting a good one will take some luck. Fingers crossed!
